The ex-wife of Allen Iverson is accusing the 76ers basketball legend of abducting his own children, according to a report from TMZ.
Tawanna Iverson says the former NBA star picked up their five children on May 22 and told her he was taking them on vacation to Charlotte, North Carolina, according to TMZ. While he was supposed to bring their children back to her on May 26, Iverson never showed up, according to court documents filed by Tawanna.
TMZ reports that Tawanna claimed she tried to set up a second return date for her children on June 4 at a neutral location but that A.I. once again never showed up. Tawanna believes Iverson never took their children to Charlotte and is instead keeping them at a hotel in Georgia, according to TMZ. Tawanna has sole legal custody of the children, who range in ages from 3 to 16 years old.
Tawanna, Iverson's wife of eight-plus years, filed for divorce back in 2010. The two underwent a bitter court battle last year in which Tawanna asked for a restraining order and accused him of harassing both her and her family. Earlier this month, Tawanna also claimed Iverson owed $40,000 in child support. Iverson has denied all of his ex-wife's allegations against him.
